Ewa Zawadzka 

Born in Kolumna near Lodz. Having graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Art at the Academy of Fine Arts of Cracow in Katowice, she has dealt in graphic art and drawing for many years. She established herself as a renowned artist in these fields by participating in significant graphic art exhibitions around the world and winning numerous awards. Member of Programme Board of the International Graphic Art Triennial in Cracow and Polish Graphic Art Triennial as well as Polish curator on Graphic Art Biennial in Ljubljana and Miskolc. She wrote texts on graphic art and took part in conferences and international graphic art meetings in Canada, Hungary, Slovenia and France. Her works can be found in all world’s acclaimed art collections. Zawadzka is the head of Multi-Graphic Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts of Cracow in Katowice. She is Programme Coordinating Board member of the Sielecki Castle Centre of Art in Sosnowiec and Ars Cameralis in Katowice. Since 2002 she has specialised in painting which allows large size, structure building, highlighting the power and the monumentality of form. Co-authored ‘Graphic Art Workshop – Brenna 2008’ sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Currently she has performed painting and photography. Both her graphical technique and painting style are considered very original and individual. The main themes of her work include post-industrial scenery, creating illusionistic spaces- both visional and real at the same time.
